Anglo Irish Bank appoints new non executive director

Anglo Irish Bank announced the appointment today (Thursday 19th April) of Anton Stanzel to the Board of Directors of the Bank as a Non Executive Director.
Mr. Stanzel is a former Director General of the Ministry of Finance in Austria and had responsibility for Banking, Insurance and Stock Exchange Supervision. He has also served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Austrian Federal Financing Agency (the equivalent of the NTMA in Ireland) and in the role of State Commissioner to a number of Austrian banks including the Austrian National Bank, Bank Austria Creditanstalt, Creditanstalt, Postsparkasse and Raiffeisenverband Salzburg.
He is a former Associate Professor of the University of Economics in Vienna.
Mr. Stanzel has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Anglo Irish Bank (Austria) A.G. since 25 January 2000.
