Anglo Irish Bank has been actively involved in providing financing for film production in Ireland
since 1990.
The Bank raises Section 481 financing for Irish based producers and for international production companies
who produce films on location in Ireland.
Anglo Irish Bank also provides cash flow production facilities by discounting pre-sales
contracts provided by international distributors.
In providing Section 481 services / facilities the Bank is the proven market leader. To date in excess of
$300m in Section 481 financing has been raised for Irish production companies.
The films produced include:-
- Saving Private Ryan / Angela's Ashes for Paramount Pictures
- Michael Collins for Warner Bros.
- Ballykissangel for BBC / Miramax
- About Adam for BBC / Miramax
- Everlasting Piece for Dreamworks
- Double Down for Alliance Atlantis, Canada
In May 2001, Anglo Irish Bank launched a Company Development Initiative in conjunction with the Irish Film Board.
Under the Company Development Initiative, a number of companies have been selected for development funding of up to EUR1.9m, which is being provided by Anglo Irish Bank for a 3 year period. In addition to this the Irish Film Board will provide funding of EUR1,050,000.
This is a unique development, which will greatly strengthen the
commercial viability of the participants in the initiative.
