Private Trusts

This type of Trust empowers the Trustees to pay income and appoint capital to beneficiaries at their discretion.
A non-binding letter of the settlor's wishes will be used in these cases. Discretionary Trusts are flexible and
appropriate to a wide variety of situations.
Accumulation and Maintenance
Usually established for minors where the trust income will accumulate unless it is paid out for the maintenance or education of the beneficiary. There will usually be an age specified whereby the Trust fund will be distributed to the beneficiary.
Life Interest/Fixed Interest
This type of Trust defines the beneficiaries and their entitlement from the Trust, for example the right to all of the income from the Trust until their death.
