How to Open an Account

Step 1 - Complete an application form

Step 2 - Source relevant forms of identification

If you are a new customer you will need to source Relevant Forms of Identification as follows:

Applying by Post
When posting your application, return with one form of identification from List A, accompanied by a cheque drawn on an Irish bank account in your own name (s) and two forms of address verification from List B for each applicant (see below).

OR

If your postal application is not accompanied by a cheque drawn on an Irish bank account in your own name (s), your application must be returned with two forms of identification from List A and two forms of address verification from List B for each applicant.

List A
A photocopy of your current passport
A photocopy of your current driving license
List B
(most recent original required)
A Utility bill, ie Telephone/Gas/Electricity
A Mobile phone bill
A Bank/Credit card statement
A Motor/Household Insurance statement

If you do not have the two forms of identification from List A, one form from List A, legally certified by a professional person (Solicitor, Accountant, Bank Manager, Garda Officer or Embassy/Consular staff) will suffice. This must be accompanied with two forms of address verification from List B for each applicant.

Dropping into the Branch
If you can call to any of our offices in Dublin/Cork/Galway/Limerick or Waterford, new customers will simply require;

  • A photocopy of your current Passport/Driving License
  • AND
  • A most recent original of one of the following;
    ·  Utility bill, ie Telephone/Gas/Electricity
    ·  Mobile phone bill
    ·  Bank/Credit card statement
    ·  Motor/Household Insurance statement

Step 3 - Send your application with identification
(if relevant) to:

Provision of confirmation of identity is required by Section 32 of the Criminal Justice Act 1994

For non residents, applications must also be accompanied with a Non Resident Declaration and a Bank Reference.
