Step 2 - Compile the relevant identification documents
UK money laundering regulations mean that we have to ask you for
proof of identity. We won't be able to open your account without the
correct identification documents.
If you're already a customer of Anglo Irish Bank, you don't have to provide proof of identity or address.
If your application is in your name only:
We will need to see one original address identification document from the list below.
If your application is in joint names:
We will need to see one original address identification document for each applicant from the list below.
Proof of identity
We need to see one of the following four types of documentation for each applicant.
- An original personal UK bank or credit card statement, showing your current address, dated within the last 3 months
- An original gas, electricity, water or landline telephone (not mobile) bill showing your current address, dated within the last 6 months
- An original Inland Revenue notice of tax coding for this current tax year. Please note that we cannot accept Self-Assessment forms, P45s or P60s
- An original Council Tax bill for this current tax year showing your current address
We will return these documents to you within five business days of receipt.
Step 3 - Issue a cheque from your personal current account for your initial deposit.
- Your cheque should be made payable to Anglo Irish Bank and the name in which your account is held e.g. Anglo Irish Bank John Smith
- No third-party cheques will be accepted, (i.e. company drafts, dividends or cheques drawn on other personal names)
- Your cheque must be drawn on a UK personal bank account in your name which will then be used as your nominated account for all withdrawals
- If your application is in your sole name, your cheque should be drawn on a personal account held in your name. For joint applicants your cheque should be drawn on a joint personal account in the exact names of the applicants. (If you do not have a joint account, we will require a personal cheque from each applicant just for your initial lodgement)
