How to Open an Account

Step 1 - Download and print an application form in PDF format.

The forms are provided in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. If you do not have a copy of Acrobat reader please go to the Adobe website and download a free copy.

Please complete this application form and return it to us along with the required documentation.

Should you require any assistance with the completion of this form, please contact our Business Deposit Team who will be delighted to assist you.
Phone: 0845 045 0900

Or alternatively request a Call Back and we will contact you at your specified time.

Step 2 - Compile the relevant identification and documentation requirements:

UK anti money laundering regulations mean that we have to ask you for certain documentation together with proof of identity and proof of address. We normally use credit agents to check such information. If the information we receive is inconsistent or not available we may seek additional information or documents.

We require you to submit:

  • An application form signed by the nominated Authorised Representatives
  • Copy of Certificate of Incorporation (Certified by Company Secretary or Director)

We will return these documents to you within five business days of receipt.

We will have to delay the opening of your account if the required documentation is not provided or substantiated. The identification requirements for your Business Deposit Account are stated above, and depend on the legal status of your business.

Step 3 - Issue a cheque from your business current account for your initial deposit - minimum amount of £5,000.

  • Your cheque should be made payable in the same name as the Account Holder and marked 'a/c payee only'.
  • No third-party cheques will be accepted, (i.e. bank or building society drafts, dividends or cheques drawn on another business or in your personal name(s)).
  • Your cheque must be drawn on a UK bank or building society business current account in the name of the account holder.

Step 4 - Return all of these to us at the following Freepost address:
